Basic System
* The basic Orion package includes the PCI board, the connection cable and the software
* Very high speed pixel averaging provids efficient noise reduction; the user can also decide to average or
or integrate frames for further noise reduction

* Full electrical isolation between the SEM and the PC. This unique feature is probably the most important
one vs all competitors as it reduces/elimates the noise that can be induced by ground loops in the
cable connection itself and guarantees full security when connecting to the SEM/STEM as the ORION
board is electrically floating. The result is a noise free image with the best signal to noise ratio. The
pixel jitter(the error in the position of the image pixels) is ZERO, which guarantees the true ultra high
resolution
* Fully configurable: up to 64 image sizes are stored in a driver file on disk(image sizes, sampling times,
over sampling factors, timings, etc. ) and can be retrieved and updated at will for every new installation
* Thanks to its very high resolution and flexibility, it is possible to guarantee square pixels in any scan
mode (above 1ms) and any image size between 16 x 16 to 8K x 8K in 256 gray levels per pixel,
depending on SEM resolution
* ORION is a fully passive device that tracks the SEM/STEM scanning signals: there is no need to actively
drive the SEM scanning. The connection is much simpler and reliable.
ORION grabs images in slow visual scans and Photo mode and because of its outstanding image quality
and ultra high resolution, it is considered a true Photo device replacement
* ORION supports all "POPULAR" image file formats(TIFF, BMP, JPG,...many, many more)
* Graphic tools included are: test annotation, distance measurement, area extraction, overlays, histogram

The ORION Passive Image Capture System price is typically priced at $10,995(USD), installed with a one year, return to factory warranty. Includes the PC with 19" Flat Panel Monitor and Windows XP Pro OS. Travel charges extra.
